As a growing number of businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area are opening their doors to the public, the city is looking to better serve those in need.
The city’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is currently working to expand its public-private partnership (PPP) program to include new flower shops and flower delivery services.
The DPW hopes that this program will help to improve access to affordable, quality flower care for people in the region.
The DWP is currently in the process of expanding its program, which includes new flower businesses, to include an additional five flower shops, according to the agency.
“With the help of a PPP, we want to ensure the quality of our supply is at the forefront of the community’s choice,” DPW Director of Community Services, Melissa Clements, said in a press release.
“This program is a great way to bring our local flower shops closer to the community.”
The new flower-centric service is designed to allow residents of the city to receive flowers at any flower shop located within their boundaries.
The new service is currently available at some flower shops in the area, but is expected to expand as the DWP expands the program.
Currently, the program offers flower delivery through the DFW’s Flower Delivery App, which can be used by residents to receive fresh flowers at local flower shop.
Clements said that the new flower service will allow the DPW to be more proactive in helping to make sure residents have access to the most affordable, fresh flowers available.
It’s important to note that the DPP is currently not able to deliver flowers in the City of Emeryville, which is located in the South Bay.
Additionally, the new service will not be available to residents of neighborhoods that are located in areas of San Francisco or San Mateo County, such as Mission Valley, Fremont, Alameda, San Leandro, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale.
More than 200,000 people are currently enrolled in the DPUW’s Flower Program, which provides free flowers and supplies to residents in need in the city.
